About the role

As a Sport Turf Greenkeeper, you will be key in maintaining and enhancing Sports turf surfaces ensuring they remain lush, healthy, and resilient. Reporting to the Site Manager, this hands-on role involves maintaining and enhancing turf areas, implementing sustainable practices, and delivering exceptional turf results whilst working amongst some of the most prestigious landscapes within the Eastern Suburbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, weed control and nutrition management to uphold the quality and playability of turf surfaces.
• Monitor turf health and proactively address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.
• Implement sustainable turf management practices, including water conservation strategies, and pest management techniques.
• Operate and maintain specialised turf equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Transitioning turf surfaces across multiple sporting codes.
• Line marking operations.
• Irrigation monitoring and maintenance
• Collaborate with the Site manager to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
• Communicate effectively with Site manager to understand expectations, address concerns, and provide turf care recommendations.

About You 

Along with your Certificate III in Sports Turf Management, you have recent hands-on experience in turf management, greenkeeping, or a related field. Your knowledge of turfgrass species, growth habits, irrigation systems and maintenance requirements is second to none.

If you have cricket wicket experience and/or AQF3 Chemical Accreditation this will strengthen your suitability for the role and will be highly regarded by the team.

You are well versed in the operation of turf care equipment and machinery operations, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers and have a current driver's licence.

You already have or are willing to obtain a White Card and Working with Children Check - required due to the role being based in a school setting.

You have a mature and composed nature, excellent communication skills and would be confident to give your feedback on processes and procedures where you can see an improvement could be made.
