About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Tractor Operator to join our teams delivering various maintenance activities on local government contracts throughout VIC.

As a Tractor Operator, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance activities on a roadside and parkland setting, safely and efficiently. You will operate tractors fitted with slashing, reach mowing, edging disc and other specialist attachments, helping maintain roadsides, passive open space, verges and surrounding vegetation to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and associated attachments.
• Undertake slashing, reach mowing, mechanical edging and general vegetation management.
• Complete pre-start checks and basic daily equipment inspections.
• Work safely around roads, traffic, pedestrians and other team members.
• Identify and report hazards, equipment issues and maintenance requirements.
• Follow established safety procedures, traffic management requirements and work instructions.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and productivity across allocated areas.

 About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Previous tractor operating experience, particularly within roadside vegetation maintenance.
• Experience using slashing, reach mowing and similar tractor attachments.
• Confidence operating machinery in roadside and public environments.
• A strong understanding of safe machinery operation and WHS requirements.
• Current Driver Licence.
• White Card and relevant machinery tickets/licences are highly regarded.
• Traffic management qualifications or experience working around traffic would be advantageous.
• A reliable, safety-focused and team-oriented approach.
