Greenkeeper / Wicket Curator

As a Greenkeeper/Wicket Curator, you will be key in maintaining and enhancing turf areas ensuring they remain lush, healthy, and resilient. You will also work on wickets and get them game ready for the cricket season. This hands-on role involves maintaining and enhancing turf and wicket areas, implementing sustainable practices, and delivering exceptional results.

Working in a team small tight knit team, the main function of this role in preparing and maintaining wickets at several sites across the Eastern Suburbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, aerating, and topdressing to uphold the quality and playability of turf and wicket surfaces.
• Monitor turf health and proactively address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.
• Implement sustainable turf management practices, including water conservation strategies, and pest management techniques.
• Operate and maintain specialised turf equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with the landscaping team to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their expectations, address concerns, and provide turf care recommendations.

About You 

You are sports turf management qualified with recent experience working as a greenkeeper or in a related turf management role. If you have cricket wicket experience this will be highly regarded.

You are proud of the knowledge that you have around turfgrass species, growth habits, and maintenance requirements and want to work in a team where you can share this knowledge and also learn more.

You are familiar with the safe operation of turf care equipment and machinery, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers.

Above all, you have a positive attitude, a keen eye for detail, and a dedication to environmental sustainability.
