Groundsperson / Garden Labourer

About the Role

Green by Nature is looking for a reliable and hands-on Groundsperson / Garden Labourer to join our team maintaining a prominent green space in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

This is a full-time position, working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You’ll work alongside an experienced team maintaining high-quality gardens and outdoor spaces in a busy public environment.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, takes pride in keeping green spaces looking their best, and wants to build their skills and career within the horticulture industry.

Previous gardening, landscaping or grounds maintenance experience will be highly regarded, but just as important is a strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

As part of the grounds maintenance team, you will:

• Carry out general garden and grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, hedging, weeding and pruning
• Assist with planting, mulching and maintaining garden beds
• Operate equipment including push mowers, ride-on mowers, blowers, hedgers and whipper snippers
• Load and unload plants, materials and equipment as required
• Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean and well maintained
• Work closely with your team to maintain a high standard across the site
• Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, your team and members of the public

About You

You enjoy working outdoors, aren't afraid of getting your hands dirty and take pride in completing work to a high standard.

To be successful, you will ideally bring:

• A strong work ethic and reliable approach to work
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, horticulture or grounds maintenance, although this is not essential
• Confidence undertaking physically active work throughout the day
• A willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
• A current driver's licence
• A White Card and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain them
