About the Role
In the role of Collections Officer, your main responsibility will be to contact customers to remind them about overdue payments and provide them with strategies to help settle their accounts promptly. This role also checks customer payment history, keeps notes on contact history and shares updates with the team. This role helps improve how we collect payments and ensures our processes run smoothly. You will be based at our Mascot office which is a around a 10 minute walk from the station.
You will contribute to our organisation by:
- Making calls to customers regarding overdue payments and outstanding balances
- Sending reminders via email to ensure timely collections
- Addressing customer queries and disputes promptly to facilitate timely resolution
- Documenting all communication and collection activities in our tracking system
- Monitoring reports and identify high-risk accounts
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly collection performance reports.
- Sharing feedback from customers to improve service delivery

You have a proven ability to effectively manage a dynamic workload and meet strict deadlines. Your commercial acumen has been built by exploring and asking questions about the businesses you have worked in, and you know when to flag an account for escalation.
A team player, your collaborative approach and well-honed interpersonal skills are attributes that you pride yourself on. Effective communication skills and an ability to develop, build and sustain strong relationships with a range of key internal and external stakeholders is essential. You are skilled at being able to maintain a courteous and professional tone during even the most tense of customer interactions.
You have a high degree of proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite of programs and can be relied on to pay attention to the details and work at a consistent level of accuracy.
