About the role

This is a unique opportunity for a Greenkeeper Team Leader to join our team based on site at Brendale. The role oversees the overall care of the numerous sports fields that cater for a number of different sports - they love to have their sports fields looking pristine all year round as playing sport is an important part of supporting student life. The role will also provide the opportunity to train and develop an Apprentice Greenkeeper. You will be overseeing a team of 5 whilst on site.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing and whipping across sporting fields across a variety of sporting fields
• Monitor lawn and turf health and proactively address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.
• Operate and maintain specialised equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with other teams to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
• Communicate effectively with the team and client to understand their expectations, address concerns, and provide care and upkeep recommendations.

About You 

Ideally, you have successfully completed a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management and have recent experience in turf management and/or greenkeeping. You are seeking a change and would relish the chance to be responsible for maintaining and enhancing sporting fields across a prestigious site. 

You are proud of your knowledge levels when it comes to grass species, growth habits, and maintenance requirements. You are familiar with all equipment and machinery used in the turf world, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers.

You have a valid driver's licence, a white card and a Working with Children Check (or are willing to obtain). An MR License is desired!
