Casual Groundsperson/Garden Labourer

About the Role

We are currently hiring casual staff for our busy spring/summer season to assist with various tasks related to garden maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina. If you have a passion for working with plants, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow in the horticultural industry, we want to hear from you.

We have sites all across Sydney and also several mobile runs that looks after 5-10 smaller sites per week. You will have the opportunity to work at some beautiful and prestigious sites - from private schools and retirement villages to large commercial sites and well-known sporting venues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with garden maintenance tasks such as hedging, weeding, pruning, and mulching.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Load and unload materials, plants, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

About You

• You have a strong work ethic and are committed to completing tasks to the highest standards.
• You are physically fit with the ability to safely lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• If you have previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field this will be looked upon favourably.
• You must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and the sun.
• A valid drivers licence is desirable and you have, or are willing to obtain, a white card and a working with children check.
• Above all, you are mature and have the ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Shifts are generally between 6am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
