Begin a Fulfilling Career in Parks and Gardens
Join our four-year Apprentice program and gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled professionals to maintain and enhance green spaces, while also attending weekly classroom sessions to build your theoretical knowledge.
This position is located at Wentworth Point where you will work across a mix of areas in the precinct such as roadsides, lawns, strata gardens, community areas and hedged areas.
Throughout the program, you'll receive expert mentorship and practical training, leading to a nationally recognised Cert III trade qualification. Upon completion, you'll be well-prepared to step into leadership roles such as Team Leader or Site Manager, equipped with the confidence and skills to make a lasting impact in the field of horticulture.

What You'll Learn
Working alongside our experienced team members you will learn a number of tasks based on current parks and gardens practices.
The main learning outcomes of the certificate you will study at TAFE are:
- Identify plants and understand how best to tend them
- Implement a plant nutrition program
- Troubleshoot and report on plant health
- Conduct specialist transplanting, pruning and mowing operations
- Control weeds, plant pests, diseases and disorders
- Improve soil quality
About You
You may not have any prior experience in the parks and gardens field but you are a proven hard worker and are motivated and keen to learn new skills. Your can do attitude will underpin your success in this role.
You are mature and are able to deal with people from all walks of life.
If you have a current drivers' licence this will be looked upon favourably. You are prepared to obtain a Working With Children Check, a White Card and a Police Check.
