About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing horticultural activities and coordinating day-to-day site operations.
In this role, you will supervise 6–8 mobile garden maintenance teams across commercial sites throughout Melbourne’s South East suburbs, ensuring high-quality service delivery and efficient day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead, coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple mobile gardening crews, ensuring productivity, efficiency and consistent service standards across all sites.
- Provide hands-on leadership through regular site visits, coaching, mentoring and practical support to assist team members in developing their skills and achieving performance expectations.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to monitor contract delivery, review completed works, identify additional service opportunities and provide recommendations for enhancement or variation quotations.
- Coordinate the maintenance, servicing and repair of equipment, ensuring tools are operational, compliant and exchanged with the workshop as required.
- Review and approve daily timesheets, leave requests and workforce records, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Manage employee performance through clear communication, regular feedback and coaching.
- Maintain strong communication with field staff, management and internal stakeholders using verbal communication, email, mobile applications and other business systems.
- Utilise Microsoft Office applications and company software to complete reporting, scheduling, documentation and operational administration.
- Report directly to the Operations Manager, providing regular updates on team performance, operational requirements, safety, quality and client outcomes.
About You
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens.
- Manual Drivers' license
- Valid White Card
- Valid Working With Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain.
