  • Early starts, early finishes for better work–life balance
  • Lead teams across iconic public parks and prestigious commercial sites
  • Clear pathways into senior leadership roles

You know what a well-kept park should look like. Straight lines, healthy gardens, tidy edges, and a team that takes pride in the result. You don’t just show up to mow or prune, you care about the finish and the people around you.

At Green by Nature, we’re looking for Parks & Gardens Team Leaders to help care for some of Sydney’s most recognised green spaces, including Hyde Park, Parramatta Park, Greater Sydney Parklands, and prestigious commercial sites. This is a role where your work is visible, your leadership matters, and your day finishes earlier than most.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you’ll guide a small crew across a mix of high-profile public parks and commercial landscapes. You’ll balance hands-on horticulture work with team coordination, making sure sites are safe, well presented, and maintained to a high standard.

Your days will be active, varied, and outdoors, with early starts that give you back your afternoons.

What your day might include:

  • Leading a small team across park and landscape maintenance sites
  • Planning daily tasks and setting the pace for the crew
  • Hands-on work including mowing, pruning, planting, and general horticulture duties
  • Ensuring safe work practices and quality standards on every site
  • Supporting and mentoring team members as they grow their skills
  • Communicating with supervisors and clients to keep sites running smoothly

What You Bring:

We’re more interested in your experience and attitude than ticking every box.

You’ll likely have:

  • A qualification in Parks & Gardens or Horticulture, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in landscape or park maintenance
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Confidence leading or supporting a small team
  • Pride in producing quality outdoor spaces

If you’ve been in the industry for years or you’re ready to step up into your first leadership role, we’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • $34-38/hour depending on your qualifications and experience
  • Company vehicle, tablet & phone — the tools you need to run your site well
  • 38-hour week with early starts & early finishes — more afternoons back
  • Uniform & PPE supplied — no out-of-pocket gear
  • Free access to EAP mental health support — support when you need it
  • Stable, growing business — long-term security and real career pathways
  • Work with quality tools, ongoing training and experienced leaders — no corner-cutting
  • A values-driven culture built on Accountability, Bravery & Care — respect, trust and backing from management

Our strength lies in the unique culture created by the 2,000 plus employees living and working across Australia and New Zealand. Our position as a global, progressive and innovative green-space company is underpinned by the expertise and passion of our people. Together, we nurture green spaces, the environment and our people.

Ready for the next step?

If you enjoy working outdoors, leading a team, and taking pride in the spaces people use every day, this could be your next move.

Even if you’re not sure you meet every requirement, we’d still encourage you to apply or reach out for a conversation.
