We are seeking an experienced Architectural Master Planner & Detailer to support our active construction sites across Southeast Queensland. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and central to improving the flow of accurate and coordinated documentation between site teams and internal design resources.
Working closely with site foremen, you will visit live sites to capture, interpret, and develop detailed architectural documentation that supports real-time construction needs. This role will also take ownership of preparing fully coordinated plotting plans (PDF + CAD), ensuring early identification of site constraints and compliance requirements. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of design and construction, loves problem-solving, and enjoys direct engagement with site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Detailing
- Attend active SEQ construction sites to assess, interpret, and document site-specific detailing needs.
- Produce high-quality, accurate architectural details using ArchiCAD.
- Coordinate directly with site foremen to clarify design requirements and improve constructability outcomes.
- Build a comprehensive details book to support current and future projects.
- Reduce rework, RFIs, and delays by ensuring timely, clear, and coordinated documentation.
Master Planning & Plotting Plans
- Prepare accurate plotting plans (PDF and CAD) based on master plans, civil information, consultant documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Review and integrate constraints including bushfire, flooding, acoustic and environmental or statutory conditions.
- Identify and document site-specific risks early to reduce construction risk and non-compliant outcomes.
- Support consistent, reliable site setup information for internal teams and site leadership.
You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you have:
- Advanced ArchiCAD experience (non-negotiable).
- Broad background spanning urban design, architecture, and civil design.
- Proven experience working within the construction industry, especially in active site environments.
- Demonstrated strength in detailed design for both residential and commercial projects.
- Strong technical understanding of compliance and site-related constraints.
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate directly with site foremen.
- Able to work autonomously and proactively in a site-based role.
- Strong attention to detail with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Passion for improving construction outcomes through clear documentation.
This role is offered as a fixed 6‑month contractor position with the possibility to be extended on a consultancy basis. It will be based across our Head Office and sites over SEQ to support the foreman and get real time updates.
If this sounds like the ideal role for you, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your resume, portfolio/examples of detailing work for us to review.
