HSET Advisor - Moreton Bay

Our GemLife Health, Safety, Environment & Training (HSET) Team is seeking an experienced Advisor to support our Moreton Bay site! Join us onsite and apply your safety expertise to build a proactive, compliant, and engaged safety culture from the ground up.

As an integral part of the Health and Safety team, you will ensure that our safety policies, procedures, and practices are implemented on our projects. You will be working alongside our Civil, Residential & Commercial construction teams, providing guidance and ongoing training on all matters related to health and safety. With over 550 houses on the site and high-end commercial facilities, this is an exciting opportunity to grow with the site and see it out until completion!

Your role will include: 

•  Providing expert HSET guidance and support across all teams and sub-contractors
• Ensuring all projects comply with the WHS legislation, regulations, and company safety policies.
• Conduct safety audits and proactively identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Carry out regular site walks with Project Leads to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Review contractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to ensure strict compliance.
• Manage incidents and investigations, implementing preventative measures to safeguard the well-being of everyone on site.
• Deliver data reports on findings to operational teams and senior management to drive informed decisions and enhanced outcomes.

What we're looking for:

• Experience in a HSET role within the construction industry - 3+ years is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of WHS regulations and risk management from a construction perspective.
• Cert IV in WHS or equivalent qualifications are essential.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative person who can work with site staff and sub-contractors across the site.
• The ability to multi-task and prioritise
