Residential Interior Designer - We are offering a flexible full-time or part-time contract position to cover a short maternity leave, with the potential to transition into a longer-term job share for the right candidate. GemLife is a leader in luxury over-50s lifestyle resorts, developing, building, and operating high-quality communities ranging from 100 to 600 homes per site. Our trademark is exceptional quality, and we’re looking for an Interior Designer with a passion for residential design, strong administration skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of budgets.
About the Role:
As part of our seven-person design team, you’ll work alongside the Interior Design Manager working on the residential villas in our luxury resorts, with the opportunity to work on display homes. Working closely with the drafting and estimating teams, your role will be to select colour schemes, documenting schemes, produce creative colour boards and sourcing new products.
What We’re Looking For:
You are a person who is innovative, enjoys researching and sourcing new ideas that would add value and style to our interiors. You are also a person who enjoys building relationships and have the ability to advise our sales team regarding any interior questions that may arise.
- A diploma in Interior Design, an eye for colour and design plus extremely good administration skills, there is a good mix of design with the administration, both are essential skills.
- Background with a home builder or home improvement retailer, where you were involved in either building approvals or assisting customers with their choices for their homes.
- Strong documentation and scheduling skills
- Ability to design with creativity, flair, and budget-conscious thinking
- Proficiency in Canva, and relevant interior design software
- Passion for staying ahead of trends and professional development
- Excel and Revit could be an advantage but not essential
- The ability to travel to sites on occasion.
