The Role
As the Business Development Manager, you be responsible for driving growth by identifying new sales and partnership opportunities, strengthening client relationships, supporting the adoption of new functionality, and expanding market presence. Key responsibilities include generating new sales across digital offerings, Software as a Service (SaaS), and the adoption of our affiliate model, along with account management as needed. A strong background in solution-based sales and relationship management is highly valued. Additionally, the ability to serve as a bridge between customers and internal teams to ensure seamless implementation is a significant advantage.
You will contribute to and develop strategic sales plans, generate and qualify leads, and collaborate closely with digital, product, and IT teams to enhance offerings. The role involves securing new commercial agreements, preparing quotes, analysing tourism industry trends, and fostering industry partnerships to drive both revenue and brand reputation.
By understanding customer needs and market dynamics, you will play a key role in positioning our software solutions competitively, ensuring long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Growth Pipeline: Identify and establish a pipeline of new business activities by proactively researching, prospecting and contacting both existing and potential clients to secure new business opportunities.
- Sales Strategies: Provide input on business development strategic plan and marketing initiatives.
- Industry Events: Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events where necessary.
- Goals and Targets: Achieve monthly and quarterly KPI's with a primary focus on sales and revenue targets.
- Brand Representation: Proactively represent Bookeasy as a brand ambassador when engaging with industry as well as with both potential and existing customers.
- Partnerships: Drive new sales and establish partnerships with tourism operators, regional tourism organizations, and government entities.
- Reporting: Provide regular detailed reporting on sales initiatives and activities that provide insights and support the departmental strategic planning.
- Client & Partner Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients and partners while introducing new enhancements and opportunities.
- Continuous Learning: Stay proactive in self-education, keeping up with new developments, technologies, and tools.
- Interstate Travel: Be available for occasional interstate travel for conferences, events, and visits to the Gold Coast or Adelaide office.
Your Experience
To be successful in this role you will have a strong background in booking systems and/or software platform is highly valued, additionally, familiarity with the Australian tourism industry would be beneficial. You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and a natural curiosity to stay up to date with industry trends.
Whilst technical proficiency is important to the role, you will also have the attitude, soft skills and leadership capability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail to be successful in meeting the business demands at G’day Group.
