About the Role

Are you an experienced legal professional looking for an exciting in-house role with a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation? The G’Day Group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice and support to our leadership team across a wide range of business matters.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping legal strategies, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks in a fast-paced corporate environment.

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will act as a key advisor to senior managers, offering commercially focused, pragmatic legal solutions. Your ability to manage diverse legal issues, lead negotiations, and guide dispute resolution efforts will be crucial to your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on commercial negotiations on contracts, compliance, and risk management.
  • Manage dispute resolution efforts and litigation support.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents aligned with organisational strategies.
  • Advise on legal and commercial risks, proposing strategies to mitigate liability.
  • Manage and mentor a small legal team, fostering professional growth
  • Develop and implement legal processes, training programs, and templates.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external legal partners.

About You

You are an accomplished legal counsel with:

  • 7+ years post-admission experience in private practice and/or a in house environment.
  • A current unrestricted practising certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Proven expertise in contract negotiations, dispute resolution and litigation support
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to balance legal and commercial risks effectively.
  • Results-driven with a proactive mindset and a focus on achieving business goals.
