About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide both technical and people leadership within our Brisbane office.

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary project delivery from a mechanical perspective while managing and developing a team of engineers and designers. You will act as a key technical authority, ensuring engineering quality, mentoring team members and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering teams across studies and project execution phases.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to engineers and designers.
  • Take accountability for discipline deliverables, budgets, schedules and quality outcomes.
  • Lead design reviews and engineering assurance activities.
  • Build and maintain effective client, vendor and stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage team resources and support workforce planning activities.
  • Review complex engineering challenges and provide expert technical solutions.
  • Support project proposals, estimates and business development initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and engineering excellence across the team.

About You

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • RPEQ registration.
  • 10+ years' experience in a detailed design environment.
  • 5+ years' experience leading engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong experience in mineral processing plants, materials handling and process infrastructure.
  • Experience with engineering design software such as FluidFlow3, AFT Impulse and Sidewinder is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and project delivery.
  • Strong client-facing, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability.
  • Right to work in Australia.
