As Project Controls Manager, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Project Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the project controls function to ensure effective planning, monitoring, and reporting of project performance metrics.

The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis at our Perth office.

Key duties

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource-loaded schedules (RLS) in coordination with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Implement scheduling methodologies and tools to optimize project timelines, resource allocation, and critical path analysis.
  • Monitor schedule performance, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions to mitigate delays and optimize project progress.
  • Develop cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for engineering projects based on project scope, specifications, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project expenditures, track budget variances, and analyse cost performance against baseline budgets.
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost accounting and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with project teams to integrate risk management strategies into project plans and decision-making processes.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of project performance data, trends, and forecasts to support informed decision-making and corrective actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including change orders, approvals, and correspondence, to support audit trails and project histories.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project controls professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement specialists, and other stakeholders to align project controls activities with project requirements and objectives.

Essential attributes

  • Tertiary Degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field – Desirable.
  • 15+ years' experience in project controls management.
  • Proven Knowledge of project Controls principles.
  • Proficiency in project management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
