About the Role

Process Engineering Manager

Reporting to the Vice President - Engineering you will lead and oversee the process engineering team, driving the development and implementation of advanced process solutions for various projects ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

Key duties

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the process engineering team, setting clear objectives and priorities aligned with project requirements and company goals
  • Manage and mentor a team of process engineers and designers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Allocate resources effectively, delegate tasks and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of projects and the professional development of team members
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and ensure alignment with project goals and specifications
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to address them proactively and minimise impact on project timelines and outcomes
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the process engineering team, ensuring that design solutions meet project requirements, industry standards and best practices
  • Review and approve process designs, drawings, and specifications, ensuring accuracy, 
  • completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements and client expectations
  • Collaborate with cross function teams to integrate process designs seamlessly into overall project plans
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of process engineering activities to verify adherence to quality standards, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors and regulatory agencies, servicing as the primary contact for process engineering matters
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through presentations, reports, and meetings, 
  • providing updates on project progress, milestones, and key decisions

 You will have

  • Tertiary Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Engineers Australia or equivalent membership
  • Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) membership or equivalent
  • 15+ years' experience in detailed design engineering in mining, minerals and metals
  • 5+ years' experience in a leadership or managerial role overseeing technical teams and project deliverables
  • Expert technical knowledge across process engineering principles
  • Proficiency in process design software - Metsim, SysCAD or similar - Advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
