About the role
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Mine Site Lubrication Technician to join our Maintenance team at the Mt Carlton Gold Mine, as we transition the processing plant through refurbishment, ramp-up and into steady-state operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all fixed plant equipment is lubricated and maintained to manufacturer and site standards, helping maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
This role will be offered on a Max Term Full Time Contract and will see you work a 8/6 Roster Dayshift only. This role will be BIBO from the Townsville Region. Accommodation and Meals are supplied whilst on site.
Duties will include but not be limited to:-
- Perform routine lubrication services on Fixed Plant equipment (e.g., Crushers, Mills, Conveyors and a variety of other fixed plant processing equipment)
- Conduct inspections to identify wear, contamination, or potential mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders
- Sample and monitor oils, greases, and fluids for condition analysis
- Manage lubricant storage, handling, and disposal in accordance with environmental standards
- Support breakdown and planned maintenance activities as required
- Adhere to all site safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in plant reliability, safety and efficiency
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across the processing plant and work areas
To be successful in this role, you will have:-
- Previous experience in Trades Assistant / Lubrication or Mechanical Maintenance, or a similar role in a processing plant.
- Strong understanding of lubrication principles and contamination control
- Ability to work in a remote environment and on rotating rosters
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Basic computer skills for reporting and maintenance systems
- Current Driver’s License
- Relevant tickets/certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, Forklift) are advantageous
- Right to Work in Australia – Essential
