About the Role:

DRA are currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Designer with strong layout experience to join our core team in the Perth CBD office.

You will be involved with a diverse range of projects from concept studies, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning within the mining and minerals processing sector.

Brief Duties

  • Produce models and detailed technical drawings, in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate design reviews and coordinate multi-discipline teams.
  • Use your initiative and experience to deliver practical layout solutions and designs Ensure project time and cost are met - monitor effectiveness of designs, scheduling of work, resource requirements and review compliance with project schedule and client expectations.
  • Liaise daily with Project Managers, Designers, Engineers and clients.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior team members.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of personal safety and safe design practices.

About You

  • 7 + years relevant experience within an engineering consultancy, preferably in the mining or mineral processing industry is highly desirable
  • Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent attitude, team focus and commitment towards safety
  • Proficiency in MicroStation Aecosim v8i Select Series 10 and Open Buildings Connect Edition design software highly desirable
  • Relevant Diploma or Associate Degree - within relevant specialism
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to work autonomously to deadlines
  • Current Rights to Work in Australia
