About the Role:

Seeking a Senior/Lead Process Engineer to join our Brisbane based team. The ideal candidate will have a background in process plant design across base metals as well as demonstrated success in the delivery of studies and projects.

Reporting to the Process Department Manager, you will be leading or working with a highly experienced team and will be exposed to a continuous succession of small to large domestic and possibly international projects as they progress through the project lifestyle from early concept development, detailed design, construction and commissioning to operations.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Support the process team on studies and projects and check key process deliverables related to your field of expertise (such as design criteria, mass & energy balances, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing calculations, etc).
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, vendors, consultants, and client teams to deliver projects successfully.
• Contribute to the review and optimizations of project design, cost, safety, constructability, and schedule.
• Interface with global equipment suppliers to stay up to date with technological developments.

Key criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in mineral processing, chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering with 10 years’ experience.
• RPEQ Membership
• Previous industry experience within mining and mineral processing, ideally within EPCM
• Proven experience in design across base metals and/ or Gold - Essential
• Experience with design and implementation of floatation and comminution processes
• Comminution circuit modelling and simulations- Essential
• Process design experience including process mass balances, process flow diagrams and process support services.
• Systems design experience including piping and instrument diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, hazard and operability design reviews and systems support services.
• Familiar with technical specifications and Australian and international codes and regulatory requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs
• Experience using Metsim®, SysCAD or similar
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
