What we are looking for:

We are currently have the opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Brisbane CBD team. Working alongside our highly successful and dynamic team, you'll have the opportunity to refine your skills across a variety exciting projects.

Our ideal candidate would be technically savvy with exposure to similar projects within the Mining & Minerals Processing industry, ideally with strong experience in Material Handling and Process Plant Front End. They will be good at expressing themselves, self-motivated and have a desire to learn and grow.

As Mechanical Engineer:

You will be a vital part of our team with responsibilities including;

  • Working or leading others to deliver multi‑disciplinary engineering designs
  • Develop mechanical design deliverables, such as design calculations and equipment selection, for various applications including bulk materials handling systems, conveyors, crushers, chutes, and mechanical platework etc.
  • Preparation of documentation to support equipment procurement and contract execution, including Scopes of Work, Specifications, Datasheets and Technical Evaluation of Tender Submissions
  • Review Vendor documentation and facilitate incorporation into project designs with specific reference to ensuring constructability, operability and maintainability
  • Deliver high quality technical solutions with reference to Australian and International Standards, Codes, Guidelines and industry best practice
  • Execute project delivery within schedule, budget and quality criteria with a strong focus on safety
  • Pro‑actively work to identify risks, both project and technical, and taking appropriate action to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Willingness to attend site for short to medium term construction support, commissioning and/or operational support roles as required

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering - Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • RPEQ Certification – Desirable 
  • Ideally 5+ years relevant experience in mining/mineral processing in a design and construct environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of Materials Handling and process plant front end experience – Essential
  • Previous experience onsite within construction, commissioning and/or operational support roles - Desirable
  • Experience with base metals and rare earth minerals is highly advantageous
  • Innovative and flexible approach to problem solving with a solutions focused approached.
  • Strong focus on delivering high-quality results and strategic work planning.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey mechanical engineering outcomes with clients, stakeholders and other disciplines as required.
