About the role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role with DRA Global as we progress the refurbishment of the Mount Carlton Gold Mine Processing Plant and transition toward full Operations & Maintenance (O&M). As Process Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the operation—leading from the front, influencing plant performance from day one, and building the foundations for long-term operational success.
Operating on a 5/2 roster, this role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and wants to be part of a project that’s moving fast, evolving quickly, and making a real impact.
- Oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the gold processing plant, ensuring all activities adhere to site, corporate, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a strong on-plant presence, regularly inspecting circuits, equipment and control rooms to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Actively participate in daily production, maintenance and safety meetings, providing clear direction and resolving operational constraints in real time
- Support troubleshooting of plant upsets, breakdowns and process bottlenecks, working directly with operators, maintainers and metallurgists
- Ensure effective process control and optimisation, collaborating closely with metallurgical and technical teams to maximise gold recovery and plant efficiency.
- Manage and develop direct reports through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and capability enhancement.
- Maintain compliance with environmental licenses, tailings management plans, and requirements for water and reagent handling.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships, including those with corporate entities, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and site leadership teams.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at operational excellence, enhanced reliability, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
- Administer operating and capital budgets, monitor expenditures, and deliver results in line with approved forecasts.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting on production, safety, maintenance, and financial performance metrics.
About you
Our ideal candidate is a positive, safety-conscious team player with a strong work ethic, who excels at managing, developing, and inspiring people.
- Holds relevant higher education qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar fields (consideration also given to experienced trade-based professionals).
- Demonstrated leadership experience as a Process Manager or Operations Manager within a gold processing facility.
- Extensive technical expertise in gold processing methods including CIL/CIP, gravity separation, flotation, crushing, and milling.
- Thorough understanding of WHS laws, safety systems, and critical risk measures in mining or heavy industries.
- Experience handling operational and capital budgets, with a proven ability to implement cost-saving strategies.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication abilities, working well with site leaders, corporate personnel, contractors, and regulators.
- Capable of analysing data from production, maintenance, and metallurgy to guide prompt, informed decisions.
