About the Role

We are seeking expressions of interest for Lead Electrical Engineers to join our Perth based team. We are looking for innovative and motivated engineers that will thrive in a fast paced, solutions focused environment.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager you will be responsible for providing expert guidance in the development and implementation of electrical systems across various projects, whilst leading or supporting a team of electrical engineers.

Brief key duties

  • Lead a team of electrical engineers, providing guidance, mentoring and technical support.
  • Lead and prepare electrical and instrumentation designs and calculations in accordance with relevant client and Australian Standards
  • LV and MV design, MCCs and switchrooms
  • Instrumentation and control design
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the drafting team whilst supervising the preparation of preliminary and detailed designs
  • Manage the scope, budget and schedule
  • Technical support of construction and commissioning work
  • Maintain and foster relationships with the DRA multidisciplinary team, clients and contractors

You will have

  • Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience in mineral processing in a design and construct environment
  • Knowledge of power systems and LV design
  • Understanding of relevant Australian and industry codes and standards
  • Functional safety and hazardous area experience in a mining environment advantageous
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, control systems and communications advantageous
  • Software proficiency - ETAP - Advantageous
  • Experience with base metals, battery minerals and rare earth minerals advantageous
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
