Your Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role of the Head of Financial Control and Operations will be a broad one requiring you to be 'hands-on' and in the detail, but also a strong commercial business partner to the leadership team and board.
You will be principally responsible for leading the accounting and procurement functions and for ensuring effective controls and accurate reporting to support commercial decision-making.
Financial Control and Operations
- Commercially minded senior finance leader to lead financial control and procurement teams of the business.
- Development and enhancement of the financial control environment and corporate governance framework
- Management of a team of five, to deliver a world class accounting and procurement function
- Oversight of all core accounting and procurement deliverables - month end
close, half year and year end close, cash-flow management, external audit, taxation, insurance program, contract management, tenders and sourcing activities. - Process improvements with a view of automating non-value add processes where possible
- Financial, statutory and compliance reporting including Annual Financial Statements, Modern Slavery Statement and Sustainability Reporting
- Enhancement of finance and contract management systems and maintenance of GL master data
Your Experience
- Strong Finance leader with 15 years plus experience. Commercially focussed financial controller with exposure to commercial drivers of business performance
- CA/CPA qualified, ideally with a background in a Big 4 / Top tier audit firm
- Proven track record in technical leadership and financial control
- Ensuring compliance with statutory law, taxation, and financial regulations
- Strong capability in creating and implementing new processes
- Ability to adapt to business changes in a growing company
- Maintain and enhance control environment across finance and procurement processes and procedures
- A senior leader, capable of providing clear direction to the team, setting high standards, motivating, coaching and empowering the team to deliver
- A strong influencer, with the ability to gain alignment and commitment to delivery of outcomes.
