Job Description
Our client, a leading baked goods company, is currently seeking an ambitious R&D Baking Technologist to help lead their team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with a go-getter attitude and a drive to succeed. Responsibilities include:
1) Formulate and develop new products from concept to commercialization to meet customer expectations on nutritional profile, ingredient statement, and product attributes
2) Conceptualize bakery products and develop product prototypes for evaluation
3) Assist with the sourcing and evaluation of ingredients
4) Lead cost-saving initiatives through ingredient, product, and process optimization
5) Drive innovation through continuous improvement
6) Work with the R&D Product Manager to develop and document the process for the manufacture of new products
7) Provide technical support at plant trials and new product start-ups with the Operation Team
8) Develop finished product and process specifications
9) Work with the QA Team to ensure food safety and regulatory requirements are met
10) Work with cross-functional teams on projects requiring product development support
11) Arrange for completed products and samples to be shipped to customers
12) Maintain records of formulations, ingredient testing and prototyping
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the baked goods industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in research and development
