Vice President of Supply Chain

Job Description

Our client, a leading produce company, is currently recruiting a Vice President of Supply Chain who will infuse the Supply Chain Team with their talent, energy and leadership skills. 1) Maintain working knowledge of key markets and establish indicator metrics to identify and justify price movements in support of the sales organization

2) Develop strong relationships with key suppliers

3) Lead key contract/pricing negotiations

4) Identify strategic sourcing alliances

5) Oversee warehouse operations, while providing industry-leading customer service

6) Provide the most cost-effective solutions for the storage and movement of product, packaging, and ingredients within our network of on-site and local warehouse partners

7) Coordinate with production operations on inventory build and storage strategies

8) Work with demand planning and customer service teams to schedule labeling operations to meet customer requirements

9) Coordinate with procurement and logistics to supply the inputs required to meet the schedule

10) Partner with maintenance to identify and resolve acute issues and facilitate the preventive maintenance program to keep the warehouse running smoothly and efficiently

11) Inspect pouch products to ensure the integrity of the product being provided to customers, completing sales orders at a minimum of 48-hours in advance of shipment

12) Evaluate for pouch defects, labeling accuracy and packaging integrity to ensure no quality escapes reach the customer

13) Ensure inventory accuracy and control throughout the supply chain, with accurate cycle counts and location of inventory

14) Facilitate the budgeting and adherence to overhead spending through weekly monitoring and monthly financial reviews

15) Develop solutions to achieve budget commitments when deviations occur

16) Identify the most efficient and cost-effective methods to move inventory throughout the supply chain

17) Identify strategic alliances to meet our logistical needs

18) Breakdown the geographic barriers to expansion by identifying economic ways for us to get products to our customers at a competitive price while maintaining excellent customer service metrics

19) Develop production and inventory targets in support of customer service and operational agility

20) Manage the aged inventory process to identify, socialize and develop action plans to liquidate aged inventory

21) Manage Forward Warehouse relationships and inventory levels in support of sales demand

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the produce industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in supply chain
