Job Description
Our client, a leading dairy products company, is looking for a Quality Manager to join their team. If you have the required experience and are up for a challenge, this could be a great opportunity for you. Responsibilities include:
1) Develop and maintain a quality management program to drive improvement across the organization and align with industry best practices and BRC standards for GFSI
2) Supervise the Quality Team
3) Implement food safety and quality systems
4) Ensure adherence on the manufacturing line
5) Write policies, SOPs, and SSOPs and create logs and forms, when necessary
6) Audit adherence to policies, SOPs, and SSOPS and the completion of food quality and safety logs, ensuring compliance
7) Monitor to ensure that Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, allergen programs, formulations, and finished product meet specification
8) Coordinate testing of product for micros and broadcast results
9) Supervise quality aspects of equipment commissioning
10) Conduct, organize and track food safety and quality employee trainings and mock recalls
11) Complete all functions related to organic and kosher certification and liaise with relevant organizations
12) Meet with regulatory agencies and represent company during external audits
13) Coordinate testing of product for claims, as appropriate
14) Ensure that receiving and shipping procedures for incoming and outgoing finished products and raw materials are in compliance with quality and safety standards
15) Coordinate with Purchasing Team to confirm compliance with all purchasing-related BRC standards and to identify quality criteria for all sourced raw and packaging materials
16) Collaborate with Purchasing to drive improvements in supplier quality
17) Provide guidance and recommend solutions for supplier-related quality issues
18) Assist with the R&D Team with product development and product improvement projects
19) Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback
20) Deliver solutions to internal teams for quality-related production issues
21) Provide direction on corrective actions around consumer feedback
22) Produce CAPAs on food safety and quality issues when necessary
23) Maintain and drive a safe working environment throughout the manufacturing facility
24) Embody a vision and mission to build a world class safety and quality program
25) Perform other duties as assigned
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the dairy products industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in quality management
