Job Description


We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the ingredients industry. One of our clients is looking to add a strong Electrical Engineer to their team. Responsibilities include:


1) Ensure the operational integrity and statutory compliance of the mine electrical systems and electrical maintenance programs

2) Maintain electrical data, documentation and drawings

3) Implement electrical engineering solutions to solve problems and contribute to the company’s operational excellence

4) Manage all aspects of long-term mine power supply needs and strategies

5) Establish electrical standards and implement the management systems to maintain those standards

6) Take the lead in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical systems

7) Monitor site power consumption and related charges and implement techniques and procedures to minimize energy costs

8) Manage all aspects of site PLC and HMI systems to control all processes and provide data required for management of the mine

9) Manage the design and function of methane monitoring system and all related hardware and controls

10) Manage the design and function for all mine hoist controls and programming

11) Identify opportunities to improve power and control system reliability

12) Ensure the appropriate preventive maintenance programs are in place for electrical installations

13) Identify and coordinate the required electrical training needs to support reliability

14) Work within the Maintenance Team to implement process improvements

15) Support reliable asset management objectives

16) Assist in setting standards for equipment purchases

17) Support in preparing annual capital budgets

18) Prepare and submit capital appropriation requests, including return calculations

19) Develop and manage capital project engineering and construction contracts

20) Implement construction and installation strategies that coordinate with production plans

21) Manage capital projects ensuring that critical path and budget goals are met


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the ingredients industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in electrical engineering

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
