Job Description


Our client, a leading seafood company, is currently recruiting an Assistant Controller who will infuse the Finance Team with their talent, energy and leadership skills. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a corporate culture that is known for its innovative and growth-oriented vision. Responsibilities include:


1) Supervise the Accounts Payable, Billing and Brokerage and Promotions analysts functions

2) Oversee daily cash management and cash flow planning related to paying company’s bills

3) Prepare periodic reports related to bank compliance for review by the Controller and CFO

4) Assist the Controller with the monthly close process

5) Assist the Controller in advising management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization

6) Work with managers from other departments regarding financial matters, reporting, procedures and operations

7) Recommend and participate in the development of policies, systems and special financial studies

8) Cooperate to ensure compliance with financial procedures of the organization

9) Work with the external auditors to supply requested information in a timely manner

10) Participate in operational and fiscal audits of operations, as requested

11) Work with Plant staff and management to identify and recommend cost savings and efficiency improvements

12) Compile government reports related to manufacturing and company operations

13) Input the annual budget into the ERP system

14) Assist the Controller with the initial selection and administration of the future ERP system for the company


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the seafood industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in financial management

Compensation and Other Details


Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
