Job Description


A brilliant opportunity exists for an outstanding individual capable of fitting into this very rewarding Quality and Food Safety Specialist role. Our client, a leading confectionery company, is looking to hire someone who can bring added value to the team. If you’re dedicated, energetic and detail-oriented, this could be the perfect role for you. Responsibilities include:


1) Assist in operating the SQF programs and assist in managing all food safety and QA programs

2) Manage the approved supplier program and documents

3) Assist in arranging and executing microbial and EMP programs

4) Assist in maintaining the specification sheets and COA’s from vendors

5) Assist SQF Director in managing all SQF programs and SQF documentation

6) Supports SQF Director on all HACCP functions and the non-conformance programs

7) Assist in developing and maintaining the plant’s FSQA training programs

8) Understand processing specifications, product changeover coordination and organization on the kitchen side

9) Understand routine quality analysis of the company's food manufacturing process

10) Assist in recording and managing results of daily, weekly and monthly quality checks and track trends

11) Assist in reviewing HACCP, SOP and SQF paperwork for deviations and takes correct measures, within reasonable timelines

12) Assist in quality assurance hold accuracy identifies causes of deviations and takes corrective action in line with quality assurance programs

13) Verify process control practices and compliance, bring ideas forward for continuance policy and process improvement

14) Assist in developing and maintaining Quality Assurance policies for all areas of the facility

15) Collaborate with production to investigate causes of problems

16) Monitor preventative maintenance practices with production

17) Works with production to eliminate program deviations that result in non-compliance records and documentation

18) Assist in the implementation and maintaining the plant’s sanitation programs

19) Develop, implement and maintain effective sanitation practices

20) Lead efficiency improvement projects within the sanitation function

21) Implement and maintain all plant SSOPs and MSS

22) Test new sanitation methods and chemicals

23) Assist in the process involving maintenance requests and transfers back to production

24) Assist in developing training materials and delivers training for all sanitation tasks

25) Assist in the inspection of materials for product and raw materials release

26) Review all documents weekly to assure set procedures are being followed

27) Implement corrective actions for any procedure deviations

28) Meet with SQF practitioner weekly to assess the effectiveness of implemented procedures


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the confectionery industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in quality and food speciality

Compensation and Other Details


Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
