Job Description

Our client, a leading seafood company, is currently seeking an accomplished Plant Manager to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Communicate goals and execute strategies based on corporate objectives

2) Perform with integrity in a fast-paced, high-energy and demanding role

3) Establish overall vision and direction for the implantation of plant administration

4) Develop strategies to improve processes and procedures to enhance corporate performance

5) Monitor managers' performance against goals to ensure progress is being made

6) Meet regularly with managers and facilitate a resolution to any issues and problems

7) Oversee appropriate staffing levels to meet the requirements of the facility

8) Oversee recruitment, hiring, terminations and performance management

9) Conduct continuous improvement through lean manufacturing Initiatives

10) Manage the morale in the facility and promote a team approach

11) Assist and support budget preparation

12) Review and approve plans for the control of planned output, budget spending, material efficiency, engineering effectiveness and human resources

13) Analyze and report on the plants' daily, monthly and annual key performance indicators and industry trends

14) Examine reports to determine operational activities of the company and ensure optimum performance

15) Work with other team leaders to ensure the daily operations run at peak efficiency

16) Manage equipment costs and any department costs

17) Monitor and supervise the performance of all employees, including discipline

18) Manage the overall attendance of the plant

19) Conduct performance evaluations of direct staff reports

20) Promote safety and ensure that all standards are met and exceeded

21) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the seafood industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in plant management

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
