Job Description

Our client, a leading baked goods company, is currently seeking an accomplished Safety Manager to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Ensure employment policies and practices comply with relevant employment regulations

2) Stay current with employee relations trends, regulations and legal requirements

3) Develop and execute employee reward and recognition programs

4) Administer attendance and other disciplinary warnings in compliance with set policy and procedures

5) Maintain hourly compensation and review process

6) Partner with other HR Staff members for benefits enrollment

7) Assist with the development and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion programs

8) Advise the Vice President of HR and leadership on employee relations

9) Serve as the point of contact on fundamental HR issues and questions

10) Partner with the Vice President of HR on complex employee relations issues

11) Provide guidance and counsel to employees on employee relations issues and workplace practices

12) Receive, evaluate and respond appropriately to employee concerns

13) Conduct investigations of complaints and recommend corrective actions

14) Support management in the development of employees including coaching and mentoring

15) Inspects the facility regularly to identify safety, health and environmental risks

16) Ensure safety inspection policies and communications from supervisors and managers are maintained

17) Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company

18) Administer workers compensation programs, including filing claims, light duty and RTW programs

19) Ensure OSHA Compliance and work with the Food Safety Manager to ensure GMP policies are met

20) Prepare and schedule training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety and other relevant topics

21) Monitor compliance with safety procedures

22) Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings

23) Ensure that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible, when needed

24) Assist with various HR research projects and special projects

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the baked goods industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in safety management

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
