The Technical Specifications Engineer is part of Evoenergy’s Asset Standards team and plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of electricity network assets and customer connections.

You will lead the development, maintenance, and approval of electricity network technical specifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and budget requirements while applying best‑practice standards and procedures.

Drawing on strong field experience, you will work closely with field personnel and stakeholders to deliver and educate on network designs, construction manuals, connection standards, and technical specifications across distribution, transmission, and zone substation assets.

Key responsibilities: 

The Standards & Specifications Engineer provides technical leadership, guidance and decision making to support high quality engineering outcomes across the network. 

  • Provide technical leadership and decision-making to ensure high‑quality engineering outcomes across the electricity network.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide expert advice on network standards, specifications, drawings, materials, and construction/design documentation.
  • Lead best‑practice integration of new technologies, asset trials, construction standards, and safe asset energisation and delivery processes.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and mentor and coach Evoenergy staff.
  • Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training.

  • Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (required) or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (desirable), with practical experience in electricity networks.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV assets, secondary systems, and electrical works delivery; drafting experience desirable.
  •  High‑level analytical, problem‑solving, communication, negotiation, and technical writing skills.
  • Proven ability to research, assess, and test technical solutions, with a strong commitment to safety and organisational culture.
