About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Electrical Fitters to join us at Evoenergy.

As an integral part of this team, you will predominantly be working in Greenfields subdivision, feeder and chamber substation environments.

Whilst it will be beneficial if you have distribution network experience, we are willing to develop and mentor electrical fitters who can bring equivalent skills and the right attitude.

The role will be based with Major Projects Delivery – predominantly tasked with fitting out chamber substations and the reticulation of Greenfields estates. The ideal candidate will have experience in and be willing to work between both of the respective Greenfields and chamber substations teams as required. This position involves various electrical fitter work activities involving the construction and maintenance of Evoenergy’s Electricity Network for both internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

The position holder will, within their level of skill, training and competency; undertake work activities associated with their trade qualification on Evoenergy’s Electricity Network and Ancillary Works including though not limited to:

  • Chamber substation (distribution bulk supply point) fit out and maintenance – from installation of transformers and switchgear to SCADA cubicle wiring and everything in between.
  • Greenfields pit and substation wiring and commissioning, LV circuit fault finding and troubleshooting.
  • Play a part in critical city-building projects – new Zone Substation construction, upgrades and Net-Zero HV feeder projects. 
  • Distribution asset construction and maintenance including cable termination, mini pillar maintenance and switchgear maintenance,
  • Fault response and fault rectification works,
  • Participate in on-call & shift-work rosters as necessary (opt-in basis)
  • Ordering of materials required for the work being undertaken including personal protective equipment.
  • Timely completion of all record keeping documentation which includes work order and task completion, vehicle pre-starts, timesheets etc.;
  • Ensure booking of time and materials to appropriate project/work order numbers.
  • Focus on improving safety in all aspects of tasks.
  • Focus on improving efficiency in all aspects of tasks.
  • Be aware of and report any worksite variances to immediate Supervisor.
  • Contribute to job closure reports within required time frame.
  • Participate in investigation of incidents if required.
  • Attend and participate in work team and section meetings and attend all required training.
  • The development, coaching and mentoring of fellow Workers including Apprentices.
  • Other duties within the position holder’s level of skill, training and competence.

About you

  • Minimum Certificate III Systems Electrician.
  • Previous successful work in field on construction and/or maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • High risk license – EWP 
  • OH&S General Induction Card
  • Asbestos Awareness training
  • Hold a current ACT motor vehicle licence or its acceptable equivalent.
