Electrical Fitter

·        EW Level 6-8 $86,221 - $98,760 + 15% Superannuation & Allowances

·        Ongoing, Fulltime

·        9-day fortnight

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the energy transition as an Electrical Fitter to join us at Evoenergy.

As an Electrical Fitter at Evoenergy you will be involved in various electrical fitter work activities involving the construction and maintenance of Evoenergy’s Electricity Network. Introductory and ongoing training will be provided to ensure you are given the skills to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Substation Construction and Maintenance: Participating in zone and distribution substation construction and maintenance.
  • Distribution Asset Maintenance: Maintaining distribution assets, including cable termination, mini pillar maintenance, and switchgear maintenance.
  • Service Installation: Installing services from Evoenergy’s distribution network to customers’ premises.
  • Supply Connection and Disconnection: Handling supply connections and disconnections, including non-payment account disconnections.
  • Metering Investigations: Investigating retail metering issues, conducting type 5- and 6-meter testing, and testing Current Transformers (CT).
  • Quality of Supply Investigations: Assessing customer quality of supply and testing electrical infrastructure.
  • Fault Response and Rectification: Addressing faults and rectifying issues promptly.
  • On-Call and Shift Work: Being available for on-call and shift work as per Evoenergy policy.
  • Equipment Usage and Material Ordering: Correctly using plant, vehicles, tools, and materials. Ordering necessary materials, including personal protective equipment.
  • Record Keeping: Timely completion of work-related documentation, such as work orders, task completion records, vehicle log sheets, and timesheets.
  • Project Tracking: Ensuring accurate booking of time and materials to appropriate project or work pack numbers.
  • Reporting and Communication: Reporting worksite variances to the immediate supervisor and contributing to job closure reports.
  • Incident Investigation: Participating in incident investigations if required.
  • Team Participation: Attending work team and section meetings and participating in all required training.
  • Mentoring and Development: Coaching and mentoring fellow workers, including apprentices.

About you

Essential

  • Minimum Certificate III Systems Electrician.

Desired

  • Previous successful work in field on construction and/or maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • High risk license – EWP 
  • OH&S General Induction Card
  • Asbestos Awareness training
  • Hold a current ACT motor vehicle licence or its acceptable equivalent.
