As a Project Development Manager, you will lead the end-to-end development of high-value, complex electricity infrastructure projects, from initial concept or customer request through to execution readiness. This includes managing all aspects of project development such as technical design, environmental and regulatory approvals, commercial modelling, stakeholder engagement, and resource planning. You’ll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure each project is strategically aligned, feasible, and ready for successful delivery.
This role is an exciting blend of creative and technical work, translating designs/specifications into real-world outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead Project Development: Manage the end-to-end development and design phases of complex electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with Evoenergy’s frameworks, standards, and strategic objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (planning, environment, legal, commercial) and external stakeholders to define project goals, gather requirements, and secure ongoing support.
- Strategic Planning & Delivery: Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, risk assessments, and delivery methodologies by integrating insights from subject matter experts to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Act as the primary liaison for all project stakeholders, providing clear and timely updates on progress, risks, financials, and performance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Drive Excellence & Innovation: Champion continuous improvement, quality assurance, and industry best practices by evaluating project outcomes, managing consultants, and fostering knowledge sharing across teams.

Our ideal candidate:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business or other relevant discipline to the energy utility industry
- Project management certification e.g. PMP, CAPM, PRINCE 2 (Desirable).
- Demonstrated high-level technical knowledge and understanding of high voltage infrastructure relevant to distribution, transmission line and substation projects, including development, cost estimation and design.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including contract negotiation, with high attention to detail and a focus on compliance.
- Experience in government authorities and community consultation with excellent writing, communication and relationship management skills to enable effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
