Evoenergy is seeking an experienced leader to join our Works Enablement Team as a Program Development Manager. In this role, you’ll lead the development of major electrical infrastructure projects - taking distribution and transmission substations, underground and overhead lines, renewable energy connections from concept stage through to ready for construction, manage a high-performing team, and drive consistent, high-quality project outcomes across our energy network.

This role will be instrumental in driving strategic projects that support and accelerate our electrification journey.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Drive Project Development Excellence: Establish and maintain consistent project development practices, processes, and templates to ensure efficient, high-quality outcomes across the full project lifecycle.
  • Provide Strategic Leadership: Manage a multidisciplinary team of project professionals, offering coaching and capability development while driving performance across multiple programs from concept to execution.
  • Collaborate for Success: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external partners to manage risk, optimise delivery models, and ensure technical, environmental, commercial, and stakeholder requirements are met.
  • Champion Governance & Continuous Improvement: Lead compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards; monitor performance; and drive continuous improvement through data analysis, post-project reviews, and alignment with Evoenergy’s cultural and operational frameworks.

Our ideal candidate: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or related discipline supported by significant years diverse experience relevant to project development and design in the energy utility industry
  • Proven high level business and commercial acumen to connect development activities and planning to financial outcomes.
  • Excellent understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework in which utility businesses operate including relevant industry regulations and underpinning commercial models.
  • Strong understanding and experience with the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects across the project lifecycle for large infrastructure projects in the utilities industry, including design, delivery, operation and maintenance, preferably in electricity distribution.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, managing and influencing a technical workforce with extensive experience developing and managing a portfolio of major projects.
  • You take active steps to ensure the safety of your colleagues and our community, championing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
