The Site Lead Cable Jointer position oversees field crews carrying out construction, maintenance, replacement and installation works on Evoenergy assets, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
The Site Lead Cable Jointer position is responsible for promoting safe work practices and providing coaching and mentoring to team members on both technical tasks and performance expectations, while using workplace technologies to support operational efficiency.
The role also manages materials, plant and equipment usage and delivers accurate, timely reporting on incidents, job progress, attendance and resource utilisation.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and support field crews in delivering safe, high‑quality construction and maintenance activities across Evoenergy’s electricity network, including cable jointing and complex site operations.
- Manage day‑to‑day site performance by overseeing safety, resources, materials, contractors and reporting, ensuring work is completed efficiently, on time and within budget.
- Coach, mentor and guide team members to lift technical capability, performance and safe work behaviours while proactively addressing issues and contributing to performance evaluations.
- Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and fellow leaders, resolving on‑site issues, collaborating to improve work practices, and representing the team in key meetings.
- Utilise IT systems to support job scoping, reporting, compliance and daily coordination, while contributing to continuous improvement and participating in on‑call and after‑hours duties as required.
- Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training.

Our ideal candidate:
- You take active steps to ensure the safety of your colleagues and our community, championing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
- Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems Cable Jointing, Craft Certificate or equivalent.
- Certificate III in Front Line Management (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding of the operation and maintenance and construction of electricity network infrastructure and field operations and high level knowledge of construction standards.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in supervising and leading teams in technical areas.
- Proven ability to be a positive leader with high standards for workmanship, safety, collaboration and commercial awareness.
- ACT Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
