Safety Business Partner  

  • Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity

  • Remuneration - $121,560 - $148,212 +16% superannuation (payment of salary above the base will be dependent on skills and experience)

About the Role

With safety at the heart of everything we do here at Evoenergy, this role will see you working collaboratively with other Safety Business Partners in the team and being a mentor, guide and a trusted advisor for the business. You will focus on proactive safety management, including hazard management by building relationships and coaching/guiding frontline leaders in hazard identification, analysis and mitigation. This position will also be responsible for driving positive safety outcomes through quality incident investigations and delivering projects that are aligned to strategic health and safety initiatives.  

A day in the life 

  • Drive the planning and implementation of health and safety initiatives. 
  • Develop and review safety procedures, training, and communication materials. 
  • Facilitate proactive safety initiatives including hazard identification, analysis, and mitigation. 
  • Conduct incident investigations and ensure actions address root causes. 
  • Perform audits, inspections, and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities. 
  • Lead technical safety reviews and safety-related projects. 
  • Promote positive safety behaviours and advise leaders and workers on safe systems of work. 
  • Support injury management and return-to-work processes as needed. 

What You’ll Bring 

Essential: 

  • Knowledge and experience in proactive safety practices including hazard management in high-risk environments. 
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (completed or in progress). 
  • Experience in the delivery of health and safety related projects and initiatives. 
  • Strong communication, consultation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Ability to influence safety culture and drive behavioural change. 

Desirable: 

  • Experience in incident investigations (e.g. ICAM methodology). 
  • Experience in the electrical distribution industry or similar. 
  • Formal electrical qualifications (trade or other). 
  • Experience delivering safety training and workshops. 
  • ACT (or equivalent) Return to work co-ordinator training.
