Evoenergy is seeking a technically skilled and strategic Commissioning Manager to lead the safe and effective integration of sub-transmission and distribution infrastructure into our operational network. This is a high-impact leadership role that combines technical oversight with team management, governance, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As Commissioning Manager, you will oversee all electrical commissioning activities across Evoenergy’s network projects—from design and construction through to energisation. You’ll lead a dedicated commissioning team, develop standardised frameworks, and ensure assets are commissioned to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

This role is central to bridging engineering, delivery, and operations, and plays a key part in shaping Evoenergy’s commissioning practices and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning activities across sub-transmission and distribution projects.
  • Develop and embed commissioning plans, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide sign-off authority for commissioning and energisation of new assets.
  • Mentor and manage the commissioning team, fostering technical capability and alignment.
  • Oversee FAT, SAT, and energisation procedures.
  • Collaborate with contractors, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to resolve commissioning issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and handover packages.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in areas such as protection systems, SCADA, or circuitry.
  • Continuously improve commissioning governance and practices.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in electrical commissioning, ideally in transmission/distribution or power generation.
  • ACT Professional Engineering Registration (or ability to obtain).
  • Proven leadership experience in technical infrastructure environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of 11kV to 132kV systems, including switchgear, transformers, SCADA, and protection systems.
  • Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle and commissioning integration.
  • Experience developing commissioning frameworks and governance processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, documentation, and reporting skills.

Desirable:

Postgraduate qualifications in engineering, project management, or leadership.
