Evoenergy is currently offering multiple opportunities for candidates to join our Ground and Zone Asset Delivery Team as Protection Technicians. We are seeking a variety of experience levels from seasoned Protection Techs to those exploring the field for the first time. We’re seeking individuals with experience in any of the following areas, which will be considered highly favourable:

  • Thermographic
  • Cable fault location and diagnostics
  • High-voltage (HV) testing
  • Protection Maintenance and commissioning
  • SCADA, Automation, and communications systems.
  • Faults and Emergency response

As a part of the Network Services team, you will undertake a variety of works associated with the construction and maintenance of Evoenergy’s Electrical Network. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of maintaining a future focused electricity network for the ACT.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure site compliance with safety rules and regulations including the Evoenergy Safety Rules, Evoenergy Lifesaving Rules, Safe Work Method Statements, Evoenergy manuals, policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in SWMS, procedure, JRA. Standards and design reviews and investigations
  • Ensure the delivery of works in a timely and safe manner, to Evoenergy design requirements and technical standards and to highest quality standards, while minimising customer impact. 
  • Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training.

Our ideal candidate: 

  • You take active steps to ensure the safety of your colleagues and our community, championing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
  • Minimum Certificate III Systems Electrician.
  • High risk license – EWP 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the operation and maintenance of electricity network infrastructure and field operations and high level knowledge of construction and protection standards.
  • Advanced Diploma in Power Systems or equivalent desired.
