Operational Information Controller

  • Level 4 Zone B salaries ($137,699 + 15% Superannuation)

About the role:

  • The Operational Information Controller is responsible for:
  • The integrity and availability of operational information for use within the Group; and
  •  Its provision and use by key suppliers, partners and stakeholders of the Group; and
  • Developing, implementing and managing the provision of accurate, complete and timely operational information

 Key responsibilities:

  • This job involves managing geographic, schematic, and equipment data for Network Operations.
  • The tasks include designing and standardizing electrical networks' operational symbology and schematic layouts for operational systems, providing GIS/CAD support to the Control Section, and performing QAQC of designs submitted. The OIC must ensure that the ArcFM data supplied meets ADMS requirements. They are responsible for maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of Works as Executed information for operational purposes. The OIC must complete WAE tasks on designs that affect the Electrical Network and will require an update to ADMS. They must resolve network map updates that affect the Electrical Network and will require an update to ADMS.
  • The OIC must also create the SCADA I/O database and map SCADA points and complete the commissioning in ADMS. They must design emergency reactive works enabling the Outage Coordinators to write the Switching Plan and check daily exports against GIS updates to maintain data accuracy between ArcFM and ADMS. The OIC must perform additional checks for the approved Switching Plans.
  •  Ensure that information is exchanged accurately and efficiently between business systems and operational systems, including life support, embedded generation sources, and load management.
  • Maintain and manage the version control processes and systems for operational records.
  • Test any resolved defects or enhancements in ADMS. Collaborate with drafting officers and the GIS team to continuously improve the QAQC tool in ArcFM.

About you:

  • Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience in the electrical distribution industry, specifically ADMS system information exchange with related business systems (GIS, records management and works management)
  • ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System): Intermediate to Advanced User/Administrator
  • ESRI, ArcFM, Autodesk & Meridian products: Intermediate to Advanced User/Administrator
  • Electrical design: Intermediate to Advanced level
  • Knowledge and experience in the management of data flow processes in engineering design, construction, operation and maintenance
  • Knowledge and experience in the electrical data quality maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience of documentation and quality management principles & processes
