About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced consultative sales professional to lead new business growth across the NSW Local Government sector of 128 Councils. You will inherit a functional portfolio with existing opportunities and potential to development many more opportunities. You will work with a team of like-minded professionals who ‘own’ similar portfolios in the other states around Australia. What you will be doing:
> Drive new business growth
- Identify and engage high-potential government agencies using data, referrals, your existing networks and via our partner ecosystem.
- Own and execute a tailored Territory Plan that focuses on untapped opportunities in the NSW Government sector.
- Strategically target key accounts and convert them into long-term clients both directly and with partners.
- Focus on client-based outcomes to drive strategic deals
> Expand and deepen existing relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior Local Government stakeholders.
- Cross-sell and upsell a range of solutions inclusive of Local Government Agreements, other software solutions, professional services, advisory services and cloud managed services.
- Consistently exceed pipeline creation and sales targets through proactive and strategic account management.
> Deliver winning proposals and presentations
- Lead the end-to-end proposal and tender process with compelling, customer-aligned submissions.
- Showcase your ability to understand Local Government needs, budgets, project timelines, and technical requirements.
- Present with impact – both virtually and in-person – to senior Local Government audiences.
> Be operationally sharp and results-focused
- Consistently identify new opportunities and progress opportunities through the funnel.
- Maintain accurate sales records in Salesforce and contribute to weekly sales meetings with accurate forecasting. Salesforce records discipline is critical.
- Operate with discipline, accountability, and full compliance with internal sales and operational processes.
About You
You're ideal for this role if you are:
- A natural connector with 3+ years’ experience selling business software solutions, ideally in or to the NSW Government sector.
- Known for your trusted relationships in Government.
- Energetic, strategic, and hungry to overachieve your sales targets.
- Ability to leverage partners to accelerate deals.
- Adept at navigating complex sales cycles and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Able to generate new opportunities beyond your existing network – you hunt, not wait.
- An articulate communicator with strong business writing and presentation skills.
- Experienced working in a structured, process-driven sales environment.
- Curious about the spatial and geospatial industry – experience is a bonus, but a willingness to learn is a must.
