About the Role  

The Application Support Consultant in our Managed Services team provides technical application support, ensuring that our contact with clients delivers a user experience consistent with our client experience vision.

Your key responsibilities will include:   

  • Perform incident management, problem management and change management processes in line with the ITIL best practice service delivery framework to resolve technical issues.
  • Understand our client’s business needs and specific requirements, and monitor, operate and optimise their GIS Solutions.
  • Help clients create value by identifying, understanding, and articulating solutions for issues by means of relevant technical expertise including ArcGIS Enterprise and other related ArcGIS technologies.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of the clients’ environment, supported customisations and common issues, ensuring that the documentation is accurate and of a high quality.
  • Support the post incident review process, identifying root causes and fixes/preventions for high priority incidents.
  • Provide rostered on-call support as requested. Work outside normal office hours as needed to complete systems maintenance.


About You  

You are a proactive and detail-oriented Application Support professional with a strong background in IT systems and application troubleshooting. You thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to delivering high-quality support services. Your technical expertise and communication skills make you a trusted partner across business and technical teams. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Solid Level 2 IT support background, including experience managing servers, troubleshooting issues, systems monitoring and basic networking knowledge.
  • Desirable experience with JavaScript and Python, not for coding but for debugging and supporting custom applications. Exposure to web development is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Root cause analysis for system outages or performance issue
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Preferred experience using geospatial technologies in particular; ArcGIS for Enterprise and other related ArcGIS technologies.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience using AWS or Azure is desirable.
  • Knowledge and skills in geodatabases and RDS instances are desirable.
  • You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
  • Attitude and behaviour align with Esri Australia’s core values.
  • Please note you need to obtain a satisfactory AFP National Police Check certificate pre-employment.
