About the role

As Finance Manager, you will lead our Financial Accounting and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and efficient transactional finance services across the Group.

This is a broad finance leadership opportunity where you will have the chance to shape how we operate. You will strengthen financial governance, lead statutory reporting, oversee key accounting judgements and drive improvements across our processes, systems and controls.

You will also develop a high-performing team and work closely with stakeholders across the business, translating complex financial matters into clear advice that supports sound decision-making and strong business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Lead the Financial Accounting and Accounts Payable functions, delivering accurate reporting, effective controls and efficient finance operations.
• Oversee statutory, Group and subsidiary financial reporting, including reporting for the Board and Audit, Finance and Risk Committee.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet governance, financial close processes and key accounting judgements.
• Lead the assessment and implementation of new or revised accounting, regulatory and sustainability reporting requirements.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and governance frameworks that support consistent and compliant financial management.
• Act as the primary finance lead for external audits and specialist reviews, coordinating responses and supporting the timely resolution of findings.
• Strengthen procure-to-pay governance, payment integrity, reconciliations and exception management in partnership with Procurement, Treasury, Tax and other stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and service delivery, including leveraging SAP, automation and operational insights.
• Lead, coach and develop team members, fostering an inclusive, accountable and high-performing culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.

About you

You are an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to influence, communicate and build trusted relationships.

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
• Membership of Chartered Accountants or Certified Practising Accountants.
• Experience within a professional services environment, ideally audit or advisory.
• Demonstrated experience leading financial accounting, accounts payable or shared services functions within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls, governance and audit requirements.
• The ability to interpret and implement changing accounting, regulatory and sustainability reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills, including the ability to make complex financial concepts accessible to non-finance audiences.
• Experience developing insights, recommendations and papers for senior leaders and Boards.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within demanding reporting deadlines.

Energy industry experience is not required. What matters is your ability to bring strong finance leadership, technical capability and a continuous improvement mindset to a complex and evolving organisation.
