There’s never been a better time to be in energy. And there’s never been a more exciting time to be at Endeavour Energy.
More than 2.7 million people across New South Wales rely on us every day for the supply of safe and reliable power to their homes and businesses. We employ more than 1,700 people across our catchment, making us one of the largest employers in Sydney’s Greater West.
We need talented people who care about one another and the work they do. Why? Because we’re one of Australia's fastest growing networks, connecting 20,000 new customers each year, including the Western Sydney Aerotropolis. And when we power together, we go further, faster; towards a smarter, more sustainable future for us all.
We’re looking for a strategic and commercially minded leader to shape and manage Endeavour Energy’s Totex (Total Expenditure) Enterprise Portfolio — a multi-billion-dollar investment program underpinning our business strategy and the energy transition.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development and balancing of unconstrained, constrained, and optimised investment plans across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons. Working at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations, you will partner with senior leaders to ensure investments deliver maximum value to customers, meet regulatory obligations, and position the organisation for long-term success.
Key accountabilities
- Lead the Enterprise investment strategy through development and stewardship of the Enterprise Value Framework.
- Develop and maintain the Enterprise Portfolio Lifecycle process, ensuring alignment from strategy to delivery.
- Facilitate portfolio scenario modelling (Capex and Opex) to test investment pathways, trade-offs, and optimisation options for Executive decision-making.
- Produce a prioritised Enterprise Portfolio aligned to Executive guidance, Corporate Planning cycles, and strategic objectives.
- Design and embed risk-based investment models, tools, and systems to support transparent and data-driven capital allocation decisions.
- Engage and collaborate extensively with key stakeholders — including investment proponents, delivery partners, Strategy, Finance, Regulatory teams, and the Executive Leadership Team — to shape portfolio priorities and secure alignment.
- Develop and maintain portfolio reporting, including medium- to long-term resource and capability requirements.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions and reporting requirements, translating portfolio priorities into compelling, evidence-based narratives.
- Manage the regulatory investment test (RIT-D) process for augmentation and replacement projects, considering non-network alternatives.
- Oversee the annual Distribution Annual Planning Report (DAPR) to provide transparency on network needs and planned investments.
On offer
- Influence investment decisions that shape the future of critical infrastructure.
- Operate in a fast-changing, purpose-driven industry central to Australia’s clean energy future.
- Work directly with senior executives on high-value strategic decisions.
- Recognition, career development, and leadership opportunities in a high-performance culture.
- A collaborative environment that values both technical expertise and strategic thinking.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MBA, CFA, CPA) highly regarded.
- Experience in portfolio management, investment planning, strategy, consulting, preferably in capital-intensive industries.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in scenario modelling, risk–return assessment, and portfolio optimisation.
- Proven ability to engage, influence, and align senior stakeholders to guide investment priorities.
