There’s never been a better time to be in energy and there’s never been a more exciting time to be at Endeavour Energy.

More than 2.7 million people across New South Wales rely on us every day for the supply of safe and reliable power to their homes and businesses. We employ more than 1,700 people across our catchment, making us one of the largest employers in Sydney’s Greater West.

To work with us in this role, you don’t need to have any energy experience. We need talented people who are ready for challenge and growth and value a sense of care and belonging. Why? Because our vision is to lead the way with smarter energy solutions. Play your part in helping us to put the customer first and transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for us all.

Principal - Design Integration

Are you an experienced engineering leader who can bring people, disciplines and projects together to deliver outstanding outcomes?

As Principal - Design Integration, you will play a critical role in ensuring multidisciplinary engineering designs are coordinated, constructable and aligned to project, operational and customer requirements. Acting as the central point of integration across engineering, project delivery, construction, commissioning and operations, you will help deliver complex network projects as complete solutions rather than individual discipline outputs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly collaborative professional who enjoys managing interfaces, influencing stakeholders and driving successful project outcomes in a complex infrastructure environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Engineering Design – Enablement, you will lead the integration and coordination of multidisciplinary engineering design activities across a diverse portfolio of projects and programs.

You will be responsible for managing design interfaces, dependencies, risks, schedules and technical coordination activities, ensuring projects progress efficiently through design, construction, commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary design integration activities to ensure coordinated and complete project outcomes.
  • Establish and manage interfaces, responsibilities, dependencies and deliverables across engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain integrated design plans, milestone schedules, interface registers and project reporting.
  • Facilitate design reviews and coordination forums to identify risks, resolve conflicts and drive issue close-out.
  • Act as the primary design interface between engineering teams, project delivery, construction, commissioning, operations and external stakeholders.
  • Integrate constructability, commissioning, operability, maintainability and staging considerations into project designs.
  • Coordinate external consultants and design partners, including scope management, performance monitoring and deliverable acceptance.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering governance, Safety in Design, risk management, change control processes and network standards.
  • Capture and implement lessons learned to continuously improve design integration practices and project outcomes.

About You

You are a highly organised and influential engineering professional with a strong track record of managing complex interfaces and bringing together multidisciplinary teams to achieve common goals.

You will bring:

  • A Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Structural or related discipline) or equivalent significant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating multidisciplinary engineering inputs across complex infrastructure projects or programs.
  • Strong understanding of constructability, commissioning, operability, maintainability and project delivery considerations.
  • Experience developing and managing integrated design plans, dependencies, milestones, interface registers and issue resolution processes.
  • Experience managing engineering consultants, external designers or service providers.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering governance, assurance, Safety in Design, risk management and technical standards compliance.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality, schedule, scope, risk and cost considerations.

Desirable

  • Eligibility for Engineers Australia membership.
  • Qualifications or formal training in project management, systems engineering, contract management or design management.
