We are seeking applications from qualified and experienced Electrical Fitter Mechanics (EFM) or Cable Jointers to join our Operational Improvement team.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager for streetlighting under Operational Improvement, this role offers a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a specialist capacity, supporting improvements across our network rather than working within traditional field operations.
The position is based on a 36-hour week across 4 days, providing a strong work-life balance while contributing to critical network activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
As part of a highly skilled team, you will be responsible for undertaking and supporting a range of network activities, with a specific focus on underground assets and streetlighting infrastructure. The base location is flexible and will be determined based on the successful candidate's location, with work spanning the Endeavour Energy network area.
Key responsibilities include:
- Underground cable installation, maintenance and repair activities
- Streetlight fault finding, installations, commissioning and repairs
- Fault location and restoration of underground network assets
- Supporting operational improvement initiatives across the network
- Contributing technical expertise to improve work practices, safety and efficiency
- Working collaboratively with network crews, contractors and internal stakeholders
- Assisting with emergency response activities when required
What You'll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic (EFM) or Cable Jointer
- Demonstrated experience working on underground electricity distribution networks
- Essential experience in underground streetlight installations, fault location and repairs
- Proven knowledge of underground construction, maintenance and restoration practices
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
- Commitment to safe work practices and a strong understanding of WHS requirements
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and engage with a variety of stakeholders
- Current HR Driver Licence or willingness to obtain
Highly Desirable
- Experience across both underground and overhead distribution assets
- Switching capability
- WorkCover certifications including EWP, C2, Dogging or Forklift
- Traffic Control qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and mobile technologies such as iPads
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives
