About the role

This role would suit someone looking for a break from operational duties, as the Senior Assessor Trainer you will have the primary responsibility for the training of the Undergound Qualification (UET30821 Cert III Distribution Cable Jointing) . This position will also be required to provide training and assessment and reporting of outcomes related to trades, apprentice and post-training verifications of competency (VOCs) in line with corporate objectives and the outcomes of trade roles within the Electricity Supply Industry and Transmission Distribution and Rail (ESI-TDR) and Electrotechnology training packages. Further responsibilities for the role will be to contribute to the ongoing development of training and assessment resources, programming of work and the compliance of an RTO in line with the Australian Skills Quality Authority’s (ASQA) Standards for RTOs.

 Your key accountabilities will include:

  •  Deliver and assess the UET30821 Underground qualification
  • Assist in the delivery and assessment of UET30621 Overhead qualification
  • Assist in the delivery and assessment of plant and equipment duty of care training
  • Deliver competency based training and assessment in either a classroom or workplace environment for internal and external customers
  • Deliver First Aid, LVR, CPR, EWP and Pole Top Rescue training
  • Conduct post-training verification of competency (VoC) follow ups and provide ‘top up’ / gap training as required
  • Undertake reporting of outcomes as required for training and assessment outcomes utilising Training Delivery’s processes
  • Maintain operating policies and manuals in accordance with business requirements and when continuous improvement opportunities have been identified 
  • Programme and deliver external customer requested training and assessment to support the Technical Training external training business requirements 
  • Collate and analyse relevant training and assessment data and prepare performance and competency achievement reports 
  • Maintain trade and training/assessment competencies in line with RTO requirements and ASQA (SNRs)
  • Assist in the design and development of designated technical training and learning resource materials for ongoing delivery of training and assessment 
  • Assist management in training and assessment marketing and promotion opportunities

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to meet the following requirements:

 Qualifications and licences

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessing (Training can be provided to the right candidate)
  • Cert III in Distribution Cable Jointing
  • Cert III in Distribution Overhead
  • ESI-TDR or Electrotechnology Trades Qualification
  • C Vehicle licence up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM)
  • Workcover Induction for Construction Work - General Course

Experience:

  • Advanced professional with substantial experience in a similar/professional role within the Education, Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities industry.
  • Min. 5 years experience in distribution cable jointing
  • Min. 5 years experience in distribution overhead
  • Experience in Plant and Equipment operations
  • Knowledge of regulatory training and assessment needs of the business and Accredited Service Providers.
  • Experience in developing, programming and delivering workplace trainer and assessor resource materials and duties in a large geographically diverse energy distribution environment. 
  • Experience in conduct Risk Based Training Needs Analysis (RBTNA) Verification of Competency (VoC) in the workplace.
